Town Name: It has been associated with many names - Grapevine Prairie, Bethel, and Gibbs - but it became known as Coppell in 1890, was officially designated as Coppell in 1892, and was incorporated as a city in 1955.

Society:  Organized in 1991, growing out of what was initially the Old Town Committee, which next became the Coppell Historical District Committee, both city sponsored committees, and finally the independent Coppell Historical Society.

Campaigns:  Trees, Park Road, Cowboy Deli, Kirkland House, Ihnfeldt House, Minyard’s Store, Old Town Coppell Service Station, Old Town Coppell Water Tank, historical markers, and photo & document archives, and genealogical research.
