STORIES & ORAL HISTORIES
What is history? Some say it is just a snapshot of the past. Like the earliest photos called Daguerreotypes from the 1840s, things which moved in photos often appeared blurry because the chemicals reacted so slowly. Some things appeared in great clarity while others were blurred leaving behind only an impression of what was there. So too is our view of history. Whether it be novels of the past, paintings, newspaper articles, memoirs or oral histories, they are all just glimpses of the past telling a story of what transpired as seen from a certain perspective. They tell a story. Please see the following pages for a glimpse into Coppell's past.
