VONITA WHITE
Shown next to the photo of her at the entrance of the CISD Administration Building named after her, she came to Coppell in 1971 and was hired by Superintendent W.W. Pinkerton. She spent her career with CISD starting out as a teacher’s aide, teacher, and principal. She came to the central office and worked in Curriculum & Instruction (her focus) and as Director, Chief Officer and then Assistant Superintendent. She served as Interim Superintendent twice. Both Buddy Echols Field and the Vonita White Administration Building were named at the same time.

Born in East Texas, Vonita calls Malakoff her home. Vonita White served CISD from 1971 to 2003 and is one of the longest-serving and most impactful administrators in the history of Coppell ISD.
