Richard Lee organized the volunteer fire department in 1958 and was Fire Chief for 17 years. Kevin Richarson joined the CFD in 1992 and has been Fire Chief since 2006. He oversees 90 paid firefighters plus staff. The
CFD has elite national status. Barbara was the first librarian at Coppell School (later named Pinkerton Elementary) and helped establish our public library. She started the Cancer Society of Coppell.

Richard was born in Dallas and moved to Coppell at age 10 and Barbara was born here. Her Gentry ancestors settled in the area in 1868, and she is the oldest living descendent of our early settlers. They both went to Coppell School and married in 1956.
