Matilda 'Tilda' Jane Moore Parrish (1848-1930) and her brothers Henry Clay Moore (1856-1948) and William 'Will' Madison Moore (1864-1939) are buried here. Their parents were George Moore (b. Abt 1815) & Mary "Polly" Elizabeth Mount. Sometime before 1862, George married Sarah Annie Hess (1845-1914) and had two children, Allie Storey (1870-1950) and Charlie 'Walter' (1879-1960)
The Moore family including Henry, Will, Allie and Walter came here from Dry Point, Shelby County, Illinois in the 1870s after the Civil War. Henry married Mary O. Howell Moore (1861-1922) in 1878. She was the youngest daughter of James Penson Howell. The Howells were among the first to settle in this area along with the Parrish, Record, Thweatt, Harrison, Crow, and Gentry families. There are eleven Howells buried in Bullock Cemetery. Henry Clay Moore's brother Will was married to Evelyn "Lena" Ryan Moore (1874-1940). Charlie ‘Walter’ Moore was married to Pearl Deana Parrish, one of Francis Parish’s daughters. They are buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Mandy Moore Stringfellow was the daughter of Henry Clay Moore (see Stringfellow family).
There were others with the Moore family name who settled here in Coppell who came from the Huntsville, Alabama area.
Charles Carter Moore (1853-1942) moved to the area in 1876 from Huntsville, Alabama. His parents were Bernard Carter Moore (b.1800) and Mary Amy Crumpton. He was married to Cora McDonald(1866-1939). He purchased several large tracts of land, the first was 450 acres, and later a 145 acre farm. He established a large cattle ranching business. Most of this land was sold in 1956 to create North Lake. Charles and Cora had a son born in 1889, Thomas Bernard(1889-1974). In 1909 he bought the lumberyard in Coppell, but sold it in 1911. He and his wife, Nannie Mae Shaw, married in 1914. The family lived in Mesquite, Texas where their daughter Martha Jo (Crosby) was born. In 1928 they returned and managed the Moore families’ properties. After briefly returning to Dallas, the family retired in Coppell.
Robert Thomas "R.T." Moore (1889-1974) was also born in Huntsville, Alabama but does not appear to have been from the same family as Charles Carter Moore. His parents were John Thomas Moore (1836-1919) and Mary Elizabeth Harbin (1851-1926). R.T. was married to Mary Ann Hurst. They are buried in Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville. He owned 240 acres of land here. His daughter Allie married Vert Parish, son of Joe Parish, in 1939. They lived on property on Bethel Road, near Denton Tap Road.
