He and his family moved here when he became Deputy City Manager of Coppell in 2012 and then City Manager in 2017 where he has served since. His career spans 30 years in local government. He has been pivotal in driving community growth and development. He has been involved in numerous community development projects, overseen construction of public buildings and gathering places, and is recognized for intentional culture-building. He is the President of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).

Mike went to Texas A&M where he received a BS & MS in 1985. He has been a driving force in the growth of Coppell over the last thirteen years.
