JACKIE PARRISH
Jackie is shown standing in front of the historical marker at Parrish Cemetery on Cardinal Lane in Coppell. Buried there is James Parrish who received a land grant of 640 acres in 1848. He married Eliza Jane Record in 1852 and died a year later. Eliza married his brother Henry in 1854. Over 35 descendants of Henry Parrish are buried there. First called the Parrish Community, then Bethel Community, our town was named Gibbs in 1873 and then Coppell in 1892.

Jackie Lightsey married Glenn Parrish in 1961. They had four sons and three daughters. Her husband was the son of Vert (Bert) Parrish. His grandfather was Joe Parrish and great-grandfather was Henry Parrish, brother of James. Jackie is a long-time member of the Coppell Historical Society and has worked to preserve the historic cemeteries in Coppell.
