Dobecka, came here in 1912 and farmed 286 acres along the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in what is Valley Ranch today. They helped start the first Catholic
church in Farmers Branch as well as St. Ann Parish in Coppell. The Dobecka family reunions have been held over the last 40 years with sometimes over 200 members attending.

Cecil Dobecka was born in 1948 in Carrollton where he went to high school before Coppell High opened in 1965. Mark was born in 1959 at the time the home shown in this picture was constructed. Mark, along with 5 siblings, 2 sons and 6 cousins have graduated from Coppell High School.
