Googlemaps: Lewis & Clark (Camp du Bois) State Historic Site The Lewis & Clark Expedition between 1804 and 1806 was the greatest event of the day. It was comparable to the moon landing for those of us who were around to see it. They started out from Camp Dubois which is located just north of St. Louis on the Illinois side of the Mississippi.
