- Kirkland House 120th Anniversary
Coppell's oldest house, Kirkland House, was built in 1904 and is celebrating its 120th anniversary. Two guest speakers will share their memories of the house. Randy Banwart's mother, Beverly Kirkland Barnwart, was the daughter of Caroll Kirkland & Katherine Harn. She was born before Carroll went off Germany to fight in WWII and was killed in action. He visited Coppell when he was a child and has lots of memories of Coppell in the old days. Jack Brooks is the son of Harvey D. Brooks and Sallie Gladys Kirkland. They both have a lot of very interesting stories to tell about the house and the early history of our town.
